Dr Liz Schilpzand is a clinical psychologist and researcher with expertise in trauma-related mental health. She is passionate about helping people to recover from trauma, with a particular focus on working with people affected by sexual exploitation. Liz has worked clinically across a range of settings, including public mental health, justice and welfare sectors. She completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) at Griffith University in Brisbane before moving to Melbourne in 2011. Liz worked in child health research before commencing her postgraduate studies in clinical psychology. Liz was awarded a Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Melbourne. Liz’s PhD research was an independent study of parental influences on children’s recovery from traumatic events. Liz is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and Fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She is a board-approved supervisor for psychologists.
